As a QHIN, CommonWell facilitates exchange of electronic health information using the guidelines defined by the Cures Act in the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement or TEFCA. CommonWell will take on the role of Implementer for your practice&#8217;s Carequality endpoint, and the CommonWell Master Patient Index will be used in place of the Surescripts Record Locator and Exchange interface. Participation in CommonWell will help simplify the exchange of health information with other practices, providers, and health networks.<\/p><p>As practices are able to complete an additional vetting process, there will also be support for the TEFCA-Treatment Purpose of Use that will allow for broader connectivity. Use of the TEFCA-Treatment would allow for practices to further connect with other QHINs such as eClinicalWorks, Epic Nexus, Surescripts, and others.
