The Latest on UDS+ with MEDENT
September 27, 2024
For UDS+, HRSA is requiring a minimum submission of de-identified patient-level data. See the 2024 UDS+ Requirements One-Pager for more information.
MEDENT is working closely with HRSA to develop the right infrastructure to submit the required de-identified patient-level data (UDS+) using HL7® FHIR® standards.
Health centers need to review the MEDENT manual for each of the required tables to ensure that the workflow is in place for capturing the defined data. It’s important to run the reports for each of the required tables frequently before the reporting due date.
Health centers are required to submit data corresponding to measures on the following tables:
- Patients by ZIP Code
- Table 3A: Patients by Age and by Sex Assigned at Birth
- Table 3B: Demographic Characteristics
- Table 4: Selected Patient Characteristics
Health centers are required to submit one eCQM from one of the clinical tables:
- Table 6B: Quality of Care Measures
- Breast Cancer Screening
- Cervical Cancer Screening
- Colorectal Cancer Screening
- Table 7: Health Outcomes and Disparities
- Controlling High Blood Pressure (HRSA Recommended)
- Diabetes HbA1c Poor Control
Note: We will communicate which of the clinical tables we will report via de-identified patient-level data at a later date.
Health centers will continue to submit aggregated legacy UDS data through the HRSA Electronic Handbooks (EHBs) as the official submission of record. The legacy UDS submission is due February 15, 2025. The UDS+ required minimum data submission is due by April 30, 2025.
